Arena Madrid
Project details
The Arena Rockódromo at the Casa de Campo in the heart of Madrid is a gigantic structure of concrete, steel and glass. With a capacity of more than 10,000 spectators it is well equipped for multiple application purposes.
Whether used for tennis matches, music events or theatrical performances, the equipment using a special telescopic stand system from Waagner-Biro Stage Systems means that every application situation can be easily and rapidly adapted to. Individual stand areas, distributed across three height levels and grouped into modules, can be pushed together and seating can be literally lowered into the floors.
The telescopic stands are equipped with special travelling mechanisms which guarantee high stability and can be easily extended and retracted. This can be implemented by one person using a mobile control console. In cooperation with the Spanish company Figueras International Seating, who supplied and installed the approx. 10,000 seats, the project was completed in record time and handed over in time for the Tennis Master Series event.
