Kilden Performing Art Centre Sorlandet
Project details
In working on the "Performing Art Centre Sorlandet" – a new concert hall and theatre in Kristiansand in southern Norway, sound was at the core of the contract given to Waagner-Biro in 2009. The company did comprehensive work on the acoustics for the theatre, whose impressive location, standing on the harbour front, is an attraction in itself to many visitors and many cultural institutions. The work ranged from installing heavy acoustic curtains, through placing 30 acoustic reflectors, to hanging up to 40 acoustic banners.
This gives the approximately 2,200 visitors a sound experience of the highest order, which is controlled in the background with the help of the tried and tested CAT-control system.
In addition to the acoustic system, there are also two automated stands - each with 300 seats - that can both be automatically extended into position and which have a semi-automatic seat folding function.
