Season beginning at the Vienna Burgtheater with the most modern stage control - long term cooperation with Waagner-Biro
While the Burgtheater began its annual break in the summer months, Waagner-Biro completely redesigned the control of the lower stage machinery. A CAT V5 computer control was delivered, assembled and put into operation, including all necessary components. The operating concept for the lower machinery includes the installation of two control desks CAT 562 in the existing operator's stand for the lower machinery, as well as a mobile console CAT 530.
On stage, a stage master console was installed to monitor the operating conditions. In addition, the electrical switchgears of numerous drives were replaced in the lower machinery of the former court theater. These includes platforms with rope length compensator, equalizing platforms and the revolving stage. In this refurbishment, the cabinets remained and only the switch panels including all components were replaced. The acceptance test by an authorized expert was successfully carried out with the support of Waagner-Biro.
"The Burgtheater is one of the most important and well-known theaters in the German-speaking world. High quality and know-how are required in all areas. I am particularly pleased that we were already involved in the construction of the Burgtheater and the reconstruction and were now once again able to demonstrate our skills, "says Thomas Jost, CEO of Waagner-Biro AG.
Following the successful installation in Austria of the first system of the latest Waagner-Biro control generation CAT V5, we are looking forward to the commissioning of the next CAT V5 systems in the Austria Center Vienna (ACV) and the Volkstheater Vienna.
