Panel Bridges for the Democratic Republic Congo
At the beginning of 2011 Waagner-Biro obtained its first order in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Already in the second half of the year the steel bridges had been delivered in full and on time to Kinshasa.
The scope of supply included a total of ten panel bridges (Bailey-type bridges), each with a length of 30 metres and a width of 4.20 metres, and additional parts that make it possible to increase the length of one bridge to 51 metres. In March 2012, Waagner-Biro carried out a two-week training for the assembly of the bridge. The contract was completed to the full satisfaction of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Public Works and Reconstruction ("Ministère des Infrastructures et Travaux Publics et Reconstruction").
End of 2012 the first of the delivered bridges was installed in Kisangani (Epulu II).
