Opera di Firenze
The new opera house in Florence, Nuovo Parco della Musica e della Cultura, was inaugurated on 21st December 2011, with a concert under the conductor Zubin Mehta, who is also the general director of the new house. In addition to the auditorium with 1,800 seats there is a small hall for prose and concerts for an audience of 1,100 spectators. Despite this opening ceremony, the final completion of the stage machinery is not expected before end of 2015.
In April 2013 Waagner-Biro was awarded with the delivery of the control system and Unicorn cabinets for the upper machinery and the orchestra platforms. A total of 114 axles are operated by the CAT V4 control system.
Waagner-Biro, with many years of experience and a long Italian tradition of opera and theatre, is proud to have once again delivered stage equipment for an outstanding Italian opera house, such as Genoa‘s Opera House Teatro la Fenice.
